Past THA Consulting Workshops
In recent years hundreds of event organisers have participated in workshops organised by THA Consulting. Experienced event experts and the representatives from regulatory authorities and other organisations present at the workshops and deliver up to date and practical information.
Cultural and Linguistically Diverse Communities - Better Events Program (2011)
Seven workshops were conducted including event risk and safety, fire safety, crowd control and security, event first aid and medical planning and electrical and gas safety. The workshop also provided participants with a range of event management and planning tools, and covered issues including insurance, marketing, negotiating with suppliers and agreements.
Event Risk and Emergency Management Workshop (July and Sept 2010)
Speakers included event specialists from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, CFA, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, VMIA and Federation Square. Information was provided on planning for and implementing risk and emergency management at events. Fire safety, first aid, medical, crowd control and security planning were among the topics covered.
Event Site Planning (2008)
Event experts and regulatory authorities provided information on what needs to be done to develop a safe, compliant and effective event site plan. The full day workshop covered issues such as temporary structures, gas and electrical safety, liquor licensing, food safety and accessibility issues.
Event Traffic and Transport Management (July and November 2007)
These workshops provided information on the legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice relating to traffic and transport management at events. The workshop translated the legal requirements into developing practical plans for events. The roles and expectations of the authorities was covered, along with good practice examples of traffic, parking, pedestrian and transport management at events.
